Trumpeter Hermon Mehari and pianist Rob Clearfield join forces in a new co-led quartet that highlights their deep musical rapport and shared commitment to melodic storytelling. Drawing on jazz traditions while embracing modern harmony and improvisation, the duo creates music that is intimate, lyrical, and boldly inventive. Their interplay moves with clarity—Mehari’s expressive tone weaving through Clearfield’s rich, harmonically adventurous textures—resulting in performances that feel both spacious and emotionally charged. This new project features Jesse Simpson on drums and Tomáš Baroš on bass.
